Man robbed of 12 pack beer on Umhlanga Rocks Drive

The thief is a well-known vagrant in the area.

DURBAN North SAPS have opened a case of theft after a man was robbed of a 12-pack of beer on Umhlanga Rocks Drive near the Whynotte Park. According to the station, the man was approached by a well-known vagrant in the area.

“He threatened the man and then snatched the pack of Carling Black Label beer bottles and escaped on foot. We have opened a case of theft and a charge has been laid against the ‘vagrant’ who is still at large,” a police source said.

There has been a number of muggings in the north Durban area with the most notable being a woman being robbed at knife-point at Gateway.

The theft allegedly occurred near the cinema level. According to police, the suspect allegedly approached the woman, pretending to need help.
