Criminals steal meat from fridge, ransack home

The suspects also stolen R1 500 in cash from a prayer room at the Avoca home.

A CRIMINAL gang ransacked a home on Colbeck Road in Avoca on Thursday during the day emptying out the contents of a fridge and stealing various other items.

According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the homeowner noticed the gang had forced open the kitchen door to the home.

“Sadly the entire house was ransacked. A Samsung flat screen TV, a Sony PlayStation 3, meat from the fridge and R1 500 in cash was taken from the prayer room. Greenwood Park SAPS were on scene and a case of house breaking has been opened.

“Our officers noticed tyre tracks in a vacant property where the criminals parked their car. It appears they jumped over the fence and broke into the home via the back door,” he said.

In July this year, thieves completely cleaned out a home in Greenwood Park before urinating on the floor of the homeowner’s bedroom.

An estimated R350 000 worth of items was stolen from the Workington Road home.
