MOTORISTS using the M4 can breathe a sigh of relief after contractors repairing a sinkhole on the busy freeway indicated that the work will be complete by lunchtime on Friday. The sinkhole, just after the La Lucia on-ramp, has compounded traffic problems in the area with major arterial routes like Umhlanga Rocks Drive being affected.
In an interview with Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios, said workers had been working around the clock to repair the sinkhole as quickly as possible.
Simba Nhidza, contracts manager for Mageni Group involved in the repair had this to say: “We are on track with the project. We were supposed to finish next Tuesday, but we’ve been working overtime and should be totally done on Friday where residents can freely use the M4.”
