Durban North College does their bit to help CROW

Every Raindrop Counts helps CROW with recovery efforts after extensive damage to the centre caused by recent storms.

SINCE the recent storms in Durban that caused damage at the CROW (Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife) centre, the team has been working around-the-clock with recovery efforts with the help of Every Raindrop Counts Campaign and learners of Durban North College.

The centre has been the beneficiary of the Compass Cares Calendar for the past six years which they say has brought in over 1 million Rand to assist CROW with the rescue, rehabilitation and release of all injured, orphaned or displaced indigenous wildlife throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Every Raindrop Counts’ Campaign is an initiative created to raise awareness of how each individual can collectively make a difference in protecting and assisting wildlife. The driving force behind this campaign is to instill the ideal that if everyone does their little bit, collectively we can make a huge impact. Reinforcing the concept that no one can save the world alone, but together.

Each learner will only be allowed to sell one calendar each, providing a great opportunity to inspire learners and creating an understanding of collectiveness and caring for the planet.

Through various schools participating in the campaign to represent their area, CROW said they were determined to teach the youth how to care for the environment. Durban North College is to represent the Durban North area in the campaign.

CROW is appealing to all the parents of Durban North College to assist learners in educating the youth by purchasing just one calendar during the campaign.

Chandré de Bruyne from CROW said, “It is important for all of us to work together to show our youth how they can make a difference by working together.”
