The cold snap has seen temperatures drop to below five degrees Celsius overnight.

SNOW has been predicted for parts of the province. According to the Snow Report SA Facebook page, parts of the Southern Drakensberg, Swartberg, Underberg, Eastern Cape and Lesotho regions have experienced snowfall.

The cold snap has seen temperatures closer to home drop to below five degrees Celsius overnight.

“South Africans can expect a cold snap to affect most parts of the country as a steep upper-air trough, having the potential to cut off and further intensify, will result in significantly cooler weather over  most  parts  of  the  country  on  Wednesday into Thursday, with the expectation of snowfalls on some southern mountains,” said the South African Weather Services.
