Armed gang rob La Lucia, Somerset Park homes within an hour

The suspects were last seen fleeing on the M25 towards KwaMashu.

A GANG of six men have robbed two homes and attempted to rob a third within the space of an hour police have confirmed. The gang attempted to rob a home on Moreland Drive (uMhlanga) before robbing a home on Addison Drive (La Lucia) and Hambridge Avenue (Somerset Park).

According to Craig Ardendoff of SunCell Watch the suspects held up a domestic worker and children in the La Lucia robbery before fleeing with jewellery and other items.

Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security said the suspects are armed and dangerous.

“Police and Marshall Security were pursuing the suspects on the M25 going towards KwaMashu. The suspects are armed and dangerous,” van Reenen said.

The robberies comes a day after shots were fired in a robbery on Kenneth Kaunda (Northway). There was also an armed robbery on Westridge Road in uMhlanga.

Though police could not say, it is believed the six suspects are the same gang involved in Wednesday’s robberies.
