Rugby World Cup: Don your green and gold today

Show your support as the world waits for the World Ruby Union to select the host of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

SOUTH Africa has made its bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

On Wednesday, in London, the World Ruby Union will finally take a vote on which country will take on the momentous honour.

As the world waits anxiously for the union to make its decision the Minister of Sport and Recreation, Thulas Nxesi has urged South Africans to show their support to the country by wearing green and gold throughout the day.

Nxesi said SA was ready to host the tournament, and argued that it was an event that could build the nation and foster economic benefits.

The final decision is expected to be announced by 3pm.

The Cell C Sharks have since also taken to Twitter to urge the public to put on a Springbok Jersey.

The announcement of the candidate country for the 2023 Rugby World Cup will be broadcast live on Wednesday on SuperSport 1, SS10 and CSN from 2.30pm.
