Local centre gets ready for ‘back to school’ ahead of Christmas

For many school children living in impoverished areas, child-headed homes, or orphanages, a coloured pencil and crayons are not always available.

EVEN though the January’s “Back to School” rush seems a distant thought for most, it is an immediate reality for those who cannot afford stationery for their children.

For many school children living in impoverished areas, child-headed homes, or orphanages, a coloured pencil, crayons and an exam pad or pencil case, is not something they always have access to, and some have never even owned one.

With a successful book donation campaign having recently ended, Park Boulevard Centre are once again appealing to the community to dig into their children’s old stationery piles, or add on some extra pens and books onto the stationery list for next year, to help out those children who cannot help themselves, and who need these tools to be educated.

Any working pens, pencils, crayons, scissors, rulers, erasers, as well as unused A4 and A5 hard cover, and soft cover books and exam pads, files and even play dough, paints and other stationery items are welcome.
The stationery can be donated at the collection boxes situated at selected Park Boulevard Centre stores from now until the end of November.

The stationery will then be sorted by the Park Boulevard Centre management team and schools, pre-schools and high schools in need will then be chosen to receive the much needed items.

If you know of a school in desperate need of stationery items for the 2018 year or own a business and would like to become a donor of this campaign, please email info@goldfishcomm.co.za.
