ON Monday, 20 November, Durban North resident Josh Crocker will literally make a splash for charity. The Northlands Primary School Grade 6 learner will be swimming 1 500 metres in his school’s pool, which is 64 laps, to help support this year’s Game and East Coast Radio’s Toy Story campaign.

Crocker will be supported by fellow learners, teachers, parents and ECR DJ, Darren Maule who will be swimming some of the laps as a relay.

The initiative provides joy by bringing toys to thousands of children in government hospitals, children’s home and crèches across KwaZulu-Natal.

Josh to make a big splash for charity by Northglen News

Pam Jones, fellow teacher at the school said she was blown away by Josh’s generosity.

“This is phenomenal effort by Josh and it’s so rewarding when you see a child that’s a good swimmer that doesn’t only want to compete but to give back. When they approach you with the idea it is a wonderful thing to see,” she said.
