WATCH: Arnold rescues massive black mamba from home

Arnold will now tag the three metre long mamba before tagging it for a later release.

SUNNINGDALE resident, Jason Arnold recently rescued a massive black mamba from a home on Plumstead Crescent in Reservoir Hills. He said the recent KZN storms which battered the coastline and damaged buildings, churches and hospitals and the resultant sunny weather has signaled in an increase in snake sightings across the city.

In his latest rescue, you see Arnold calmly coax Africa’s most dangerous snake out of it hiding place. Arnold will now tag the three metre long mamba before tagging it for a later release.

“The snake, obviously feeling threatened and vulnerable, quickly took refuge through a large crack that led to a hollow under a large tarred surface. Although I make it look easy, it must be stressed that situations like this are very dangerous and can turn bad very quickly if you haven’t had years of experience. Because of my experience, I am always very calm, and this seems to manifest across to the snakes I’m working with, making them more calm towards me.
