A FANCY dress Halloween costume of Oscar Pistorius wearing his running blades, green shorts and holding a gun has been removed by online sales giant, Amazon. The outfit was slammed as ‘tasteless’ and sparked outrage among South Africans and the world alike.

The costume was advertised alongside the phrase Blade Gunner, a pun on Pistorius’ nickname, Blade Runner. There is also the number 2012, the year the paralympian reached the semi-finals of the 200m sprint in the Olympics.

The double amputee is serving a six-year sentence after shooting dead his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, at his home in Pretoria in 2014. Pistorius maintained that he had thought he was shooting an intruder.
