WATCH: Baby elephant ‘protects’ mom at Kruger National Park

The video has been viewed more than 305 000 times.

ALTHOUGH it occurred earlier this year, a ‘cheeky’ baby elephant was the toast of the town after ‘protecting’ her mom at the Kruger National Park. The video which has been viewed more than 305 000 times shows the calf mock charging Safari tourists.

“We stayed in Polokwane at our friends house. Anton Botha was also our guide. We knew him from one of our first trips in South Africa with Drifters. First we saw more than 100 buffalo, with a lot of little ones. The trip during this day was very nice. At the end of the trip we met this Elephant family.

“We had to drive about 1km backwards, because they kept walking towards us. It was somewhere between Satara and the Orpen Gate in the late afternoon. We think somewhere around Bobbejaans Krans because it was a long bend we had to reverse,” Arnold and Maria Jansen said.
