THE Somerset Park community have reacted with shock after a 60-year-old man died in a freak accident on Tuesday afternoon. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the local resident was accidentally electrocuted while working in his ceiling.

“Reports from the scene indicate that while the 60 year old homeowner was conducting maintenance in the roof of his home, he suffered a severe electrocution. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do to assist the man and he was declared deceased on arrival. With the assistance of the SAPS Search and Rescue unit, a delicate rope system was set up to lower the deceased from the roof,” he said.
