A PRESTONDALE mother and daughter were tied-up in an armed robbery on Preston Drive on Thursday morning. The suspects who were armed with knives, removed the burglar guard and forcefully entered through the bathroom window.
According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the suspects also stole the homeowner’s vehicle, a VW Polo, which was later recovered.
“Reports from the scene indicate that three men, armed with knives, confronted the mother and daughter, who were home at the time and cable tied their hands behind their backs and put them into a bedroom. The armed men then ransacked the premises before stealing the homeowner’s vehicle, a white VW Polo, and fleeing in an unknown direction.

“Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was fitted with a satellite tracking device was found in the Blackburn Village area and the Marshall Security Special Operations Team found the vehicle, abandoned on a river bank,” he said.
The armed suspects are still at large.
This is the second armed robbery in the area this month. In the last armed robbery, five suspects wearing balaclavas derailed the driveway gate and held up the homeowners and domestic at gunpoint before fleeing with various electronic items.
