More than two-thirds of Comrades entry cap taken up

The CMA has announced that more than 13 700 entries were received by Wednesday this week.

ASPIRANT Comrades athletes have been urged to enter now due to the unprecedented demand for entries into #Comrades2018. Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) race director, Rowyn James has advised that at the rate the entry barometer is rising, the entry cap will be reached by the end of September.

With just two weeks into the 2018 Comrades Marathon entry process, the CMA has announced that over 13 700 entries were received on Wednesday this week. That is more than two-thirds of the 20,000-entry cap already snapped up.

The Early Bird entry process, applicable to South African and Rest of Africa athletes closes in two weeks (30 September 2017).

Entry fees for the Comrades Marathon are as follows:
Early Bird Entries: R 460
Local Entries: R 500
International: R3 300

The regular entry fee of R500 will kick in on 1 October 2017 until the entry process closes.

The international entry fee is applicable to all entrants outside of the African continent. Entry is free to all runners who have completed the Comrades Marathon 25 times or more.
