Umhlanga Clinic closed, Thursday and Friday

When the clinic opens its doors on Monday morning, patients will be greeted with a brand new facility.

THE uMhlanga Clinic will be closed for the next two days and will only re-open on Monday, 18 September. That’s according to the uMhlanga Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP). Carla Riley of the organization said the closure comes following a move to build a new clinic in the village.

The new unit consists of three consulting rooms, each with a small hand basin and air-conditioning, a kitchenette for the clinic’s staff and fully flushing and plumbed toilet facilities.

Generous donations enabled the UIP together with M Projects to install 32 square metre awnings for shade and shelter for the patients as well as two air conditioners. What’s more, workers laid 50 square metres of paving and planted 320 square meters of lawn and greenery to soften the aesthetics of the clinic.

The closest clinic for residents is the La Lucia clinic is situated at 44 Oakleigh Avenue by the La Lucia Library and can be used as an alternative. The clinic is open from 7am to 4pm.
