AWARD-WINNING theatre legend and actor, Themi Venturas, passed away on Monday evening after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Venturas was revered by the theatre community, not just in Durban but all over South Africa.
Fellow actors, friends and family members posted their condolences on social media on Monday evening, reflecting on Ventura’s impact on them and the theatre industry.
Earlier this year, the theatre community rallied around Venturas in an effort to raise funds for medical costs.
Venturas was a member of the Arts and Culture Community of KwaZulu-Natal and worked tirelessly in various civic organisations on a provincial, national and international level. 
He leaves behind his wife, Trish and their sons Matthew and Alexander.
