Coffee break with PinkDrive in Durban

The annual event aims to raise breast cancer awareness and funds.

DURBAN North resident and PinkDrive KZN administrator, Janice Benecke, is appealing to residents to support the organisation’s upcoming event, Durban’s High Coffee, on Friday 6 October at the Protea Hotel Edward in Durban from 3pm to 5pm. The annual event aims to raise breast cancer awareness and funds.

“Our primary goal is to raise funds, which will go towards keeping the PinkDrive trucks on the roads, giving free healthcare services and educating women. There will be loads of fun, entertainment and prizes, all while supporting a good cause. There will be a prize for best-dressed and we have a ‘Vintage’ theme which will be fun.

“There will also be a Pink gift bags as well as various prizes and lucky draws to be won. Damon Beard is the MC for the afternoon, we have Kate Vink, a local singer, as well as two survivors sharing their stories with the ladies,” Benecke said.

The local resident said early detection was key.

“We need more trucks on the road because early detection is key and prevention is better than cure. It means we can save more lives. Cancer sees no creed or status, it affects millions of people and we need to raise more awareness and educate more people,” she said.
