VIDEO: Manhunt launched for armed suspect on Riverside Road

The suspects crashed the vehicle on Riverside Road while trying to run over the Marshall Security officer.

MARSHALL Security, the K9 Unit and Greenwood Park SAPS members are searching for a suspect who was involved in a car theft earlier on Tuesday.  Security personnel are scouring the bushes along Riverside Road searching for the suspect who remains at large. The suspect and his accomplice had crashed a stolen vehicle near Browns Drift Road.

Tyron Powell of the company said the vehicle was stolen on Adelaide Tambo Drive (Kensington Drive) earlier today (5 September).

“The suspects fled the scene with their vehicle, a Ford Fiesta and a stolen vehicle and were spotted by an armed reaction officer. He attempted to block Riverside Road however, the suspects attempted to run him over and ended up crashing the stolen vehicle, a VW Polo into the wooden bollards along the road. One of the armed men then fled into the secondary vehicle, while the second fled into the bushes on Riverside Road. We are searching for the suspect with the assistance of the dog unit,” Powell said.
