Umhlanga Post Office, from pillar to permanent post

The new post office in Umhlanga will be fully operational by Thursday.

UMHLANGA residents can breathe a sigh of relief as the new post office is set to open its doors tomorrow, Thursday, 31 August. Last year, the building was demolished to make way for the R3.1-billion Oceans Umhlanga Development, launched in 2016 by businessmen, Vivian Reddy, and Rob Alexander of Edison and Ducatus Property Groups.

Umhlanga Post Office, branch manager, Eddie Perumaul confirmed there was a delay in the opening of the new facility, set for Monday this week. “We needed extra hands  with getting everything ready for Thursday. My staff had to step in and assist. We faced some difficulties one of them being sure the keys fit the new post boxes,” Perumaul said.

The Umhlanga Post Office’s new premises is in Ridge Road on the Oceans development opposite Beacon Rock.

Their operating hours are 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
