Police investigating eMdloti woman’s death

An inquest docket has been opened by the police station.

DURBAN North SAPS have confirmed they are investigating the death of an eMdloti resident whose body was discovered outside a home on Margaret Bacon Avenue on Saturday morning. Police have confirmed the victim was 35-year-old Monique Oberholzer.

Oberholzer was well-known in the area for being involved in various community initiatives. Many believe her tragic death was a freak accident.

Durban North SAPS spokesman, Capt Raymond Deokaran, confirmed investigations were ongoing.

“We cannot say more about the case but we are investigating her death and an inquest docket has been opened,” he said.

According to Prem Balram of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), her body was discovered early on Saturday morning.

“At approximately 8.48am members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call from a resident who discovered the woman’s body. Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had suffered life threatening injuries and was declared deceased” he said.
