Search for armed robbers following Inanda CIT robbery
A cash-in-transit guard was shot in the right ankle by one of the armed suspects in the armed robbery.
POLICE, the SAPS K9 Unit, as well as members of Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) are looking for two men involved in a cash-in-transit robbery near Dube Village Mall in Inanda. The incident unfolded just after lunchtime on Thursday. The suspects had earlier shot a cash-in-transit guard in the foot and fled the scene in a Toyota Tazz.
According to Marshall’s Kyle van Reenen, both of the suspects were armed with handguns.

“While the cash-in-transit guards were doing a collection from a well-known supermarket, they were approached by two men armed with guns. They demanded the cash and attempted to grab one of the cases, a small tussle ensued resulting in the cash-in-transit guard being shot in the right ankle. The men fled in their getaway vehicle, but abandoned the vehicles a few kilometres away from the scene of the crime. The suspects then fled on foot. They remain at large,” he said.
The guard, who sustained minor injuries, was treated by Crisis Medical. He has been transported to a local hospital.
