A MAN has been arrested after he was shot during a break-in on Canterbury Crescent in uMhlanga. The suspect, along with an accomplice had broken into the home earlier this morning when he was spotted by homeowner. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the suspect was shot in the leg.
“The homeowner woke up to find two men in his property. He fired shots at the intruders, injuring one of them in the lower leg. His accomplice tried to carry the wounded suspect to the fence of the property but was unable to lift him up over the wall. The homeowner then contacted the police and the suspect was arrested. The suspect is currently recovering in hospital under police guard. The second suspect unfortunately managed to flee the scene and is still at large,” he said.
Deokaran added investigations were ongoing.
