WATCH: Tiny robot designed to weed your garden

The solar-powered, waterproof robot works day and night.

EVERY week, the Northglen News brings you ‘Things You Never Knew Existed’. This week we are showcasing a solar-powered weeding robot for home gardens.

The little weatherproof robot, which moves like a vacuum cleaner though your garden can eradicate weeds day and night.

Gardeners will now be able to enjoy weed-free vegetable and/or flower gardens, without the monotony and frustration of weeding.

The tiny robot works on the principle that weeds are short and plants are tall. Vegetation that is tall enough to reach the front of the robot’s shell activate the sensor, which turns it away. The short plants that pass under the robot will activate another sensor which activates the weed cutter.

If you have small plants that you don’t want the robot to damage, simply place a provided ‘plant collar’ around them until they are tall enough.
