Fuel price hike set for August

The increase has primarily been driven by the weak Rand to Dollar exchange rate, said the AA.

MOTORISTS can expect the petrol price to increase in August, this according to the Automobile Association.

“The increase we expect at the end of July have mainly been driven by the weaker Rand/US dollar exchange rate,” the AA said.

Petrol is set to increase by 20 cents per litre, while diesel will go up by about 30 cents per litre.

“The Rand accounted for about two-thirds of the hike, with a slight uptick in international fuel prices contributing the remainder.”
