One of the standout stories on the day was Durban North granny who went under the needle to get her first tattoo at the age of 67. Melanie Jones said she had always wanted a tattoo and decided to get her first after reading about the fundraiser in the Northglen News.
Jones got an infinity symbol that incorporated the names of her children.
“There are a few tattoos that hold much meaning and still look beautifully simple. It symbolises my never ending, limitless love for my children, John and Susie. I thought there was no better time than supporting the baby’s home and getting a tattoo,” she said.
