DASH-CAM footage of a shootout between armed suspects and a member of Marshall Security has been released. The suspects were involved in a high speed chase and shootout which ended on Percy Osborne Road last month. The suspects, armed with AK47s, were driving a black Mercedes linked to a number of crimes in the Durban area.
The video begins on Soofie Saheb Drive, Durban North and shows the suspects speed off with the armed security office in hot pursuit. The driver of the suspect’s vehicle noticed the reaction officer was following the vehicle and increases speed in a reckless attempt to evade arrest.
The video then shows the suspects turn on to Percy Osborne Road where the vehicle came to a stop. Two occupants of the Mercedes-Benz jump out of the vehicle brandishing AK47 rifles and fired several shots at the armed reaction officer who took cover and returned fire, with several rounds striking the vehicle.
