Man dies in Northway accident

The vehicle was found suspended on stay wire of a street light, balancing on one wheel.

PARAMEDICS were called to the scene of an accident on Kenneth Kaunda (Northway) just after 11am on Wednesday. According to Kyle van Reenen of Crisis Medical a 65-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.

According to van Reenen the vehicle veered off the roadway before ramping onto the stay wire, balancing only on one rear wheel.

“The driver and single occupant, a man believed to be 65, was found still seated in his vehicle. Sadly the man was found in a state of cardiac arrest and with no signs of life. There was nothing that paramedics could do to assist the man and he was declared dead at the scene.”

“Reports from the scene suggest that the man may have suffered a medical condition which lead to the vehicle leaving the roadway. The scene was secured and handed over to the SAPS,” he said.
