A LOCAL tattoo shop is hosting a charity drive for the La Lucia Baby House during the month of June. Fine Line Tattoo and Piercing, Durban will also be hosting a fundraiser for the home on Wednesday, 28 June. Jade du Plessis, manager of the shop said they started the collection earlier this month.
“We were looking for a great cause and we felt if we could give back we must do something for the community. Both the owners and myself have been blown away by Skip and Sheila (Collins) who run the home. We are urging residents to bring in their donations which can dropped off at the studio for the month of June. A list of items needed is on our Facebook page. On 28 June, we will be open from 10am till 9pm and no bookings will be taken for this day. It is a day for walk ins only (first come first serve).

“All tattoos 5cmx5cm (black only) will be R300 of any design they choose. All the proceeds will be given to the home. We are trying to make this a fun day for the whole family. There will also be tattoos for the kids as well as food to buy,” she said.
Skip Collins, who runs the La Lucia Baby House said he was blown away by the gesture.
“This is a fantastic gesture from the guys and we are blown away by their support. This was all their initiative and when they contacted us we were thrilled. It’s a great away to raise awareness about the home,” he said.
