TWO women were accosted, robbed and one of them was shot in an armed mugging on Sea Cow Lake Road on Sunday evening. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the women were approached by three suspects, one of whom was armed.
“The women attempted to defend themselves and one of the suspects fired shots striking one of them in the hip. She sustained moderate injuries and was attended to on scene before being taken to hospital by Netcare 911. The suspects made off with their belongings and fled on foot,” he said.
The suspects are still at large. The shooting and armed mugging comes a day after a shootout between a security officer and three suspects in uMgeni Park.
Attempts to get hold of Greenwood Park SAPS were unsuccessful.
