N2 north gridlocked as tow truck drivers protest

It's believed the tow truck drivers are making their way towards La Lucia.

A TOW truck strike has brought the N2 going north to a complete standstill. The go-slow on the highway began shortly before 8am near the old Durban airport. It’s believed the tow truck drivers are making their way towards La Lucia.

The protest is related to the march meant to take place on Armstrong Avenue later today. It is understood the protest was related to the insurance industry.

Durban North SAPS confirmed the drivers were granted permission to stage a march between 8am and midday‚ starting from the La Lucia Mall towards Umhlanga Rocks Drive.

uMhlanga ward councillor Heinz de Boer said he expects the drivers to make their way towards La Lucia.
