TRIBUTES have begun pouring in for former James Bond actor, Sir Roger Moore who died aged 89, his family has announced. For many, he was the epitome of the suave English gent. He played James Bond seven times in the films including Live and Let Die and the Spy Who Loved Me.
Sir Roger’s family confirmed the news on Twitter, saying he had died after “a short but brave battle with cancer”.
He was the third actor to play the British secret agent James Bond in seven feature films between 1973 and 1985 and Simon Templar in The Saint between 1962 and 1969.
The statement, from his children, read: “We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over, across the world…Thank you Pops for being you, and for being so very special to so many people.”

RIP Sir Roger Moore. My first Bond and one of the first actors that I loved as a kid. And a lovely, funny, warm person to boot. Farewell.
