Pedestrian dies on N2 after allegedly trying to escape robbers

According to Botha this was the second incident within a few weeks that Netcare 911 attended to involving pedestrians who tried to escape from suspects.

TRAGEDY struck along the N2 this afternoon when a man died after being struck by a car. The victim was allegedly being robbed at the time – he ran across the highway to escape his attackers.

Chris Botha, spokesperson for Netcare 911 said the exact details of the events will form part of a police investigation.

He said, “At around 3pm, paramedics responded to a collision on the N2 north just pass the M25. They found the patient lying on the road. He unfortunately died at the scene due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.”

According to Botha this was the second incident within a few weeks that Netcare 911 attended to involving pedestrians who tried to escape from suspects who attempted to rob them.
