Car crosses M4 to land on roof in Fairway

Two cars were involved in a collision along the M4 southbound, which resulted in one overturning.

A CAR has landed on its roof after crossing over the hedge separating the Ruth First Highway and the adjacent street. The motorist was heading toward Durban this morning along the M4.

“The driver was travelling in the southbound lane when, at around 10.30am, his and another car collided along the carriageway leading to his vehicle overturning, crossing the hedge separating the M4 and the adjacent street, eventually coming to rest on its roof in Fairway next to the highway,” said Kyle van Reenen, Crisis Medical spokesperson.

He added that the 20 year-old male driver sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics and stabilised using intermediate life support intervention before being taken through to hospital for further care.

The driver of the other car did not suffer any injury. The cause of the collision is unknown and will form subject of a SAPS investigation.
