CROW sheds light on its work

CROW’s vision is to be an independent, pioneering force in the rehabilitation and conservation of orphaned and injured wildlife.

IN keeping with their continuous efforts to create awareness and educate communities, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) has provided details about their initiatives and the importance of the work they do.

CROW is one of South Africa’s longest serving wildlife rehabilitation centre’s, based in Durban that assists wild animals throughout the KwaZulu-Natal province. Every year, CROW rescues, rehabilitates and releases over 4000 orphaned, injured and displaced wild animals. CROW aims to always provide life-saving care and treatment for wildlife in need.

As a registered non-profit organisation, CROW does not receive any government support or subsidies and is therefore 100 per cent reliant on donations from the public to continue its work in wildlife conservation and protection.

CROW’s vision is to be an independent, pioneering force in the rehabilitation and conservation of orphaned and injured wildlife, while promoting the preservation of their natural habitat. CROW aims to achieve this vision by educating communities and equipping them with the knowledge needed to protect our natural resources and wildlife with an entrenched philosophy of working with honesty, commitment and passion.

If you would like to visit CROW, join their open days on the last Sunday of every month. CROW’s Open Days start at 11am and continues until 1pm. Gates open at 10:45 am and the entrance fee is R25 per adult and R10 per child (under 12 years).

There are many ways that members of the public can support CROW, namely by donating items on the organisations seasonal wish list, becoming a MySchool member, joining their one thousand one hundred club membership programme, sponsoring an animal or offering your time and skill as a volunteer at CROW.
