Attempted murder case opened after Glenashley shootout

The suspects involved in Friday's robbery and shooting are still at large.

A BLUE Security officer has opened a case of attempted murder following a shootout and robbery in Glenashley on Saturday. Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS confirmed the case was opened following the shooting. Approximately 17 shots were exchanged between armed suspects and the reaction officer on Adrienne Avenue on Friday night.

“A case of attempted murder has been opened. The reaction officer is unsure if he hit any of the suspects in the exchange. The suspects used a white Lexus fitted with false number plates. They made off with a TV and various other electronic items in the robbery,” he said.

Brian Jackson of Blue Security, confirmed the officer had opened the case.

No arrests have yet been made.
