Durban beachfront café damaged by fire

The eThekwini fire department was called to the scene to douse the fire.

A POPULAR café on Durban’s beachfront was damaged by a fire in the early hours of Monday morning. The fire broke out at the Surf Riders Food Shack just after 1am confirmed Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios.

“Our officers responded for what initially seemed like an alarm activation. Upon his arrival minutes later, we found and detected the premises on fire. The Durban Fire department was called to the scene to douse the fire. It’s unclear how the fire started but a full investigation will be conducted,” he said.
