Those interested can find out more at www.rotary.org or they can contact local Rotarian, Andre Hattingh on 073 150 8974 and andreanddi@telkomsa.net.

THE Rotary Foundation is once again accepting applications for its annual Peace Fellowships.

The prestigious programmes are a Master’s degree programme and a professional development certificate programme. The Master’s degree lasts 15 to 24 months and requires a practical internship of two to three months during academic breaks. The professional development certificate programme is for experienced professionals and lasts three months with two to three weeks of field study. These fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses.

The global fellowships are seen as golden opportunities for driven and compassionate people in the field of peace and conflict resolution. The Rotary Foundation selects just 100 people from around the world each year. The Rotary Club of Umhlanga’s foundation chairperson, Munro Papanicolaou, is encouraging residents with the right qualifications to apply.

“The people who come out of these fellowships become leaders and change-makers around the world. It is a great opportunity for them. We at the local Rotary Club, hope that people from the area will apply so that we can show the world our talent and provide the future with global leaders,” he said.

Those interested can find out more at www.rotary.org or they can contact local Rotarian, Andre Hattingh on 073 150 8974 and andreanddi@telkomsa.net. Applications close on May 5.
