Good news for Good Friday Riverside crash victim

The family say that Tilling showed signs of consciousness earlier today.

AFTER being in a coma for over a week, the family of Hunter Tilling say that there are signs of hope for the 23 year-old. In a Facebook post this afternoon, they said the doctor gave Tilling medication to wake her. Tilling squeezed her mother’s hand.

“While Cindy held her hand the doctor said to Hunter, ‘Hunter if you can, please can you try squeeze moms hand’, and this she did,” it read.

This is more good news for the Pinetown resident who was involved in a head-on-collision on Good Friday on Riverside Road, Durban North. On Thursday a Facebook page was started to raise funds for Tilling’s medical bills after she was left without cover shortly prior to starting a new job. In just four days, about R100 000 was donated.

According to close family friend, Bridget Studzinski and Durban North resident, a simultaneous call by the family for witnesses to the event, was answered. She said that a man saying he saw the collision and who had called the emergency services, contacted them over the weekend.

The family also expressed their gratitude to the public for their support, in the post.
