Gang of eight storm business in Greenwood Park

The armed suspects robbed the business owner and customers.

A GANG of at least eight armed robbers held up a  business owner and his customers in Effingham last night.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said a gang of eight to ten men, all armed with firearms, had stormed into a shop in Effingham Road just before 7pm on Thursday.

“The gang robbed the shop of cash and other goods and frisked the customers, robbing them of cash, jewellery, cellphones. The gang was seen jumping into a white Isuzu double cab vehicle. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.

Greenwood Park SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
