TAKE NOTE: Of the following construction projects on the roads this Easter

The national roads agency want to remind motorists to stay focused whilst driving.

WITH the looming Easter weekend, SANRAL want to remind travellers to be careful on the roads. The national roads agency warned motorists of construction projects that will be ongoing during the holiday period and that journeys on any of the major highways won’t be delayed by more than 20 minutes at the ‘stop-and-go’s’ that will be in place.

Drivers are asked to take note of the following:

  • Traffic might be temporarily diverted along the N1 because of construction between Bloemfontein and Kroonstad;
  • In the Free State, the ongoing rehabilitation of the N3 from Warden to Van Reenan will be limited during the peak holiday period;
  • There might be some delays on the N2 North Coast due to construction of the Mount Edgecombe interchange and at the Kwabhoboza interchange;
  • Be alert for pedestrians and stray animals especially the informal settlements in Knysna along the N2, from George to Natures Valley, Kei River to Dutywa, as well as the N4 near Bapong.

They once again asked the public to be aware that there will obviously be a spike in traffic during this period and you will probably experience congestion. They also asked motorists to drive cautiously along the nation’s roads. Stay focused whilst driving: don’t text and drive; and when you feel tired, take a break.
