ANC Youth League will also march on Friday

'Those taking part in the marches are cautioned against injuring others and vandalising infrastructure,' said the City.

THE ANC Youth League will also be marching on Friday. In the lead-up to the nationwide marches tomorrow, the eThekwini Municipality has also granted the youth league permission to protest.

The DA-orchestrated #PeoplesMarch will take place tomorrow from the Durban Circus site to the Amphitheatre Park. The party’s parliamentary chief whip, John Steenhuisen – a former Durban North ward councillor – is expected to speak at the event.

The ANC Youth League will march in the city’s centre. The City said that Metro Police will be in attendance to maintain law and order.

“No-one will be arrested or intimidated for taking part in the march,” said Mayor Zandile Gumede. The City said in a statement that it acknowledged ‘people are free to exercise their constitutional rights by voicing their concerns and taking part in marches’.
