23 injured in N2 accident

The collision involved a taxi and three other vehicles.

A TOTAL of 23 people have been injured after an accident involving a taxi and three cars on the N2, just before the KwaMashu off-ramp. According to Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson, the N2, going north, had been reduced to one lane, because of the accident.

“Traffic has been severely affected as a result of the accident. It’s unclear what caused the collision between the vehicles. Two people were entrapped in the wreckage and had to be cut free by emergency personnel. A total of 23 people were injured in the accident with injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” he said.

In 2015, uMhlanga ward councillor, Heinz de Boer expressed his concern for accidents on this stretch of the freeway.
