Man arrested for Durban North restaurant stabbing

It is understood that the two were employees and were in the kitchen when the argument broke out.

DURBAN North SAPS have confirmed a man has been arrested for an altercation that led to a fatal stabbing at a restaurant in Durban North on Saturday night. The suspect, believed to be in his 20s was arrested in Ndwedwe on Sunday by police. He has been charged with murder for the incident which took place at Republik confirmed Col Rene Dlamuka of the station.

It is understood that the two were employees and were in the kitchen when the argument broke out leading to the fatal stabbing. The victim suffered three knife wounds to his neck, chest and right upper arm, according to police.

Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security said paramedics were unable to save the victim, 32, when they arrived at the scene due to the severity of the stab wound.

“Paramedics were called to the scene to assist, however there was nothing that could be done to save the man and he was declared dead on scene,” he said.

Management at Republik said they would not be commenting on the incident.
