Car thieves strike in Glenashley

The vehicle, which was stripped, was found in a township south of the area.

CAR thieves struck in Glenashley earlier today and stole a local resident’s Toyota Yaris. The vehicle which was fitted with a tracking device was found in a township south of the area later on, confirmed Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.

“He had just parked his vehicle for about 10 minutes before it was taken by the thieves. Netstar recovered the vehicle which had been abandoned in Folweni township. The vehicle was badly damaged and had been stripped by the thieves,” he said.

According to Craig Adendorff of SunCell Watch, the thieves got in to the vehicle using a screwdriver or similar implement. The thieves then hot wired  the vehicle.
