Two robbed in uMhlanga parking space

The suspects pretended to ask for directions before robbing the duo.

TWO people were robbed of their valuables by three suspects while waiting at a parking space on Solstice Drive in uMhlanga on Friday evening. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 6.36pm.

“The duo were sitting in a parked car when they were approached by three men. The suspects asked for directions to a college in the area. However, when the duo said they didn’t know where the college was, two of the men lifted their jackets revealing handguns. They demanded the duo’s valuables and made off with a laptop, a cell phones and bank cards.

“The suspects then told the duo to ‘F*#@ off’ from the area or they would be hurt. The duo drove off and the men fled the area. It’s unclear whether they were using a getaway vehicle,” he said.

In November last year, a cyclist was robbed on his morning cycle on Umhlanga Boulevard.
