Last month, a Durban North hijacking led to a high-speed chase and shooting on the M25 highway. In the incident, two armed suspects hijacked a female driver and fled at high speed. Armed reaction officers spotted the car on Chris Hani Road and followed suit leading to a chase-out onto the M25 Kwamashu Highway. One of the suspects produced a firearm and a shout-out ensued. The two suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled, escaping into nearby bushes.
