Business robbed of computer equipment

Four robbers threatened to shoot a security guard at a business in Malacca Road.

FOUR men robbed a business on Thursday, 9 February, forcing their way onto the premises by using a bolt-cutter to break open the front gate and door.

“The incident happened at 4.55am after the security guard completed a perimeter check. The suspects were standing in front of the property when the men saw the guard and threatened to shoot him unless he got on the floor,” said W/O Leon Audh of Greenwood Park SAPS.

The guard managed to press the panic button at the first opportunity. The four robbers made off with six computer towers, four computer screens and three laptops from the business on Malacca Road in Glen Anil.

There have been numerous violent incidents involving security guards during the past few months in the North Durban area. The most recent of which was the robbery of a guard by two men armed with handguns in Portland Drive, uMhlanga, at around 08.30pm on Sunday, 5 February.
