Thieves target La Lucia home

Third early morning robbery in North Durban.

THREE suspects were involved in a brazen robbery on Friday morning after smashing their way into a La Lucia home. The incident occurred on Belmont Gardens just after midnight confirmed Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.

“The homeowner was asleep upstairs and heard a noise. As she walked down the stairs she noticed three suspects in her garden. The thieves had managed to somehow unlock a sliding gate before smashing the front glass sliding door using a brick. They fled with stealing a laptop. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident,” he said.

The break-in was one of four early morning robberies on Friday. A Somerset Park resident was held up by armed men who robbed the home of R500 000 worth of goods and a brand-new Toyota Hilux was stolen from a Durban North home
