Christmas food drive success

R4 000 worth of food, litter, beds and toys handed over to Kitty Care.

A few feline friends are set to have a merry Christmas thanks to the generosity of residents who contributed to a feeding drive hosted by Animal Assistance Association’s Bianca and Abbi Hauser. Through a Facebook post and word of mouth, the sisters were able to collect cat food, toys, litter and beds which were then handed to kitten foster mother, Carol Dickson of Kitty Care.

Hauser said they posted a request on their Facebook page and chatted to residents who were all thrilled to be a part of the initiative.

“We’ve managed to collect items to the value of R4 000. We’ve handed it over to Carol, who will then distribute it accordingly. This drive follows another collection that we did earlier this year for dogs. Again, with that drive, we were overwhelmed with the generous donations from the community. With that, we were able to drop off much-needed items for animals in need,” Hauser said.

Animal Assistance Association embarks on regular collection drives for cats and dogs. Residents wanting to get involved can contact Bianca on 082 467 0551/ animalassistanceassociation@gmail.com or follow their Facebook page for updates.
